Rhythms: Sundays at Maylands
Our Sundays are part of the rhythm of life we share as a community. It is a weekly practice of gathering to worship, learn, and be formed in the way of Jesus.
Church is people...
We meet at 10 am to come together as fellow believers to pray, sing, listen, and grow in faith. It’s simple, unhurried, and centred on Jesus.
Fellowship Sunday | Communion | Calibration Sunday
Every Sunday, no matter its focus, reminds us that church is people, not a place. Our rhythm is about living together as a community, learning to walk in the way of Jesus, and growing in love, unity, and authenticity.
Fellowship Sunday
1st Sunday of the Month
On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate Fellowship Sunday. Instead of a typical service, we slow down to share communion, food, and life together.
During the Summer we gather in the park to relax, eat, and take communion outdoors. During the Winter we meet inside the church for warmth, conversation, and hospitality.
Communion
3rd Sunday of the Month
On the third Sunday, we share communion as part of our regular worship, remembering Christ’s love and renewing our unity in Him.
4th Sunday (when there are five Sundays in a month)
Calibration Sunday is an invitation to stop, rest, delight, and trust in God.
This is a time to practice Sabbath; to step away from the busyness of life, resist the urge to catch up on tasks, and simply lean on God for renewal. It’s a moment to enjoy His goodness in quiet, reflection, and spiritual refreshment.
Need some inspiration? Try one of these...
- Enjoy a slow morning — coffee, Scripture, and prayer without hurry.
- Take a Sabbath walk and thank God for what you notice in creation.
- Minimise screens and distractions — let your heart be still.
- Write down what you’re grateful for and how you’ve seen God’s goodness lately.
- Share a meal that feels like a celebration of God’s provision.
- Go outside — explore, play, and talk about God’s creation.
- Make a “thankful jar” with drawings or notes of gratitude.
- Watch a meaningful film and discuss what it says about hope, grace, or faith.
- Enjoy something that restores you — a walk, reading, music, or gardening.
- Make a journal entry reflecting on your season of life and how God is in the midst of it
